Despite being declared a ‘safe zone,’ Al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza was targeted on July 13, 2024. The airstrike resulted in approximately 90 deaths and 300 injuries among displaced families who had gathered there, exposing the vulnerability of supposed humanitarian safe zones in the conflict.
